Social Signals is continuing to have a major role in social search results

Social Signals (Facebook Likes and Retweets) are good to have albeit Google assigns minimal SEO value. Social Shares on the other hand whether they come from your Google+ personal profile or Brand page or even your YouTube channel are likely to prompt Google to consider the content’s rel=author more of an authority than those who get a bunch of likes, retweets and plusones.
